German Bayonets and Edged Weapon Parts

The ax measures 18-1/2 inches overall. The head measures 6-1/2 long and 3-1/4 inches at the bit. The pommel is 2-1/4 inches long.

The blade is shown in close-up from the left and right sides of the bit which is plain and unmarked. The pommel shows some minor freckles.

There is some minor wear to the paint on the handle from routine carry. There are no apparent maker marks.

The engraved blade measures 9-3/4 inches. It measures 16 inches overall.

The blade is etched with a combat scene of an MG08 machine gun crew, an antitank artillery crew, and a panzer tank. The scroll is Zur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit [In remembrance of my wartime service]) The reverse side of the blade is plain and unmarked. The red felt insert and leather buffer are in near mint intact condition.

There is some minor wear to the paint on the scabbard. There is wear to the paint of the scabbard. The F. W. HÖLLER SOLINGEN maker marked blade is near mint throughout.

The blade is maker marked with the sword impaled HHS logo and E&F HÖRSTER SOLINGEN name. It is numbered "L.G. 152" on the reverse side of the crossguard. Both sides of the blade are plain. The green felt insert and leather buffer are present. There are very robust staghorn scales, as shown. The blade, pommel, and grips are excellent to near mint throughout. The fittings are gilded brass.

The scabbard is serial numbered L.G. 152 at the throat.  The number matches the bayonet markings.

The frog is maker marked FRANZ BREHME WAHLSRODE and has the Kriegsmarine Eagle "M" stamp. It is in near excellent overall condition.

The blade is sterile and not maker marked. Both sides of the blade are plain. The leather buffer is present. There are fittings for mounting to a rifle. The blade is maker marked "asw" (E&F Hörster, Solingen) and dated "41" and the scabbard maker marked F. HERDER A. S^N. It is serial numbered "4936d" on the other side. Both sides of the blade are otherwise plain. The WaA 88 Waffenamt proof mark is present on the top of the pommel. The tip of the drag of the scabbard is also marked. The blade is maker marked "cof" (Carl Eickhorn, Solingen) and dated "41" and serial numbered "126 i" and the scabbard maker marked E&F Hörster. It is serial numbered "1183" on the other side. Both sides of the blade are otherwise plain. The WaA 253 Waffenamt proof mark is present on the top of the pommel. The tip of the drag of the scabbard is also marked. The left side is unembellished, as shown. The right side of the grip is here. The lower grip screw and nut is missing.

This bayonet has seen routine service use, visible mostly as wear to the paint on the scabbard, most of the original finish on the blade worn off and moderate wear to the leather frog.

The blade measures 9-7/8 inches. It measures 15-1/4 inches overall.

The blade is dated "43" and maker marked "fnj" (Alexander Coppel, GmbH (aka ALCOSO), Solingen)Both sides of the blade are otherwise plain.  The scabbard is maker marked "cof" (Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik, Solingen)dated "42". It is serial numbered "9459 O" on the other side. The proof mark is present on the top of the pommel partially hidden by the top strap. The tip of the drag of the scabbard is also marked. This is the grip in close-up front and rear.

There is some routine wear to the anodized finish on the marked and numbered scabbard. The blade and bayonet proper is in serviceable throughout.

This bayonet has seen virtually no service use, it appears unissued, with 98%+ of the original finish present on the blade and scabbard. The screws on the wood grips appear to have never been moved.

The blade measures 9-7/8 inches. It measures 15-1/4 inches overall.

The blade and scabbard are completely sterile and devoid of any markings of any kind. This is the grip in close-up front and rear.

The condition is excellent to near mint throughout.

This bayonet has seen combat use, with heavy wear to the original finish present on the blade and scabbard. The screws on the wood grips appear to have never been moved.

The blade is maker marked WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.G. OBENDORF a.N. and the scabbard is devoid of any markings of any kind. This is the grip in close-up front and rear. There are some heavily worn inspection/proof marks on the guard.

It is almost impossible to find one of these scabbards in any condition.  This is a nice example of the green leather covered Land Customs scabbard. There is some moderate tarnish to the metal parts, and some minor wear to the leather.
