This is a scarce award document cassette in superlative condition.
It has green felt lining on the inside front and back, as shown. It measures 10-1/8 by 13-7/8 inches and 3/4 inches thick with a yellow and blue silk twisted cord and tassels.
This is a view of the back.
The cassette cover is a deep rich Morocco red leather with profuse gilt embellishments on the front and back of the outside and inside border trim.

This is a hard case for the1939 Iron Cross First Class
medal.
This issue case has no maker marks. The front has the thin outline of the ICFC embossed in silver. There is some slight scuffing damage to the case. This is a view of the case open. It has a round push button closure. This is a view of the bottom and hinge from the back. The box is approximately 2-3/4 by 2-3/4 inches. The top is moderately vaulted (domed) The condition is near very good. |

medal.
This issue case has no maker marks. The front has the outline of the ICFC embossed in silver. There is some slight crush damage to the case. This is a view of the case open. It shows an iron cross first class medal in place which is NOT included and NOT a part of this offering. It has a rectangular push button closure. The box is approximately 2-3/4 by 2-3/4 inches. The condition is good to near very good. There is damage to the lid (the corners at the hinge on the top are out) and some splitting on the sides. |
