German Militaria

This was made in Japan for the German Hitler Youth visit to Japan prior to the outbreak of WWII.

This lantern was designed to hold a single candle in an aluminum spring cup holder. There is some minor damage to the cardboard frame attached to the holder.

Condition is generally near good to very good (but fragile) overall, as shown. The inside is shown here. The silver letter opener holding the lantern open is not a part of this offering.

The sword appears to be coin silver and hand-made and engraved.  The amber is about 10mm thick at the center, tapering to 5mm on the edges mounted on a 1mm brass backing.  There is a single screw post mount with large brass nut and aluminum retaining plate.

Condition is generally very good to near excellent

The device measures 5-1/2 inches (115mm) square.

This is a very robust well-made sturdy sign, with typical construction details of German government signage.  It is white with deep black lettering reading NSDAP Ortsgruppe Iserthal Amt f. Volkswohlfahrt (NSDAP District Iserthal Dept. of People's Welfare).

Condition is generally very good. There are some minor chips and flakes to the enamel and signs of rust from years of exposure to the weather.

The plaque measures 14 inches high by 19-3/4 inches wide.

There are two keyed holes to retain a chain (not included). The eagle has the letter "R" on its breast and the date on the scroll is 1745. This gorget dates to the 19th century. There is a large stand of arms with artillery pieces and 22 standards.

The gorget measures approximately 5 by 5-1/2 inches high. The back of the gorget has a black wool felt backing. There are no maker marks apparent on the gorget or tangs.

Condition: Generally near-excellent throughout. The felt backing is in near excellent condition.

The chain is 11 inches long. The gorget measures approximately 5 by 5 inches. The back of the gorget has a black wool felt backing. There are no maker marks apparent on the gorget or tangs.

Condition: Generally near-excellent throughout. The felt and chain are in outstanding condition.

The neck chain with alternating emblems is 24-1/2 inches long with the last link on each end marked RZM and M1/17. The gorget measures approximately 8-3/4 by 4-1/2 inches. The back of the gorget has the deep forest green wool felt backing ABSENT. Each tang is maker marked RZM and M5/8.

Condition: Generally near-excellent throughout, with only very minor routine wear from use. The chain is in outstanding condition.

The neck chain with alternating emblems is 20-1/2 inches long with the last link on each end marked RZM and M1/102.

The chain is 26 inches long. The gorget measures 6-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches. The back of the gorget has Army gray-green wool backing. It has no maker mark apparent.

The gilded brass chain is 27-1/4 inches long and features 56 alternating Iron Cross and swastika plates. The gorget measures 6-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches. The back of the gorget has a black coarse woven linen backing. It has a "1" (Deschler) maker mark apparent on the chain attachment hook.  There are no maker marks on the chain.

Condition: Generally near-excellent, with some minor rust speckles and very slight wear from use.

It measures approximately 16 inches long, the cord being about 5/16ths inches in diameter.

The overall condition is near excellent, excepting a broken attachment pin at the bottom side of the badge, which is not noticeable in normal display, but could be easily repaired if desired.

It measures approximately 15 inches long, the cord being about 5/16ths inches in diameter.

The overall condition is near excellent, excepting some slight detachment of the light cord at the badge, evident in the images.

We have several colors available in two sizes. Not all colors come in both sizes. One is 1000 meters, and the other is 500 meters. Colors include dark gray, light blue, deep red, a medium brown as shown. Other colors may be available. We also may have some SS marked thread available at a higher price. Inquire to availability. This map is captioned in six languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Slovak. This is the key.

The map was printed in the summer of 1939, about a year after the annexation of Austria.

It measures 35 by 41 inches (excluding the cover).  The approximately 7 by 9 inch case is plastic with a fabric expandable sides.  The cover is stamped with a maker mark and 1939 date.

The overall condition is used, very good to near excellent.

This version is one of several made by Lineol in the early and mid 1930s. This is the most detailed and complex of the group, featuring worm and screw tranverse and elevating mechanisms, detachable trucks, steerable front wheel and pintle mount assembly, the original cords for the winches never deployed, front and rear chains and pin retainers for the carriage locks, a working spring hammer and trigger mechanism for a stick on black powder snap cap, and deployable spring hinged stowable stabilizers. 

The gun measures approximately 38cm (15 inches) long, 13cm (5 inches) high rigged for transport. The gun itself is 27cm (10-1/2 inches) long This is the top view of the gun, showing the stabilizers deployed and the front and rear transport carriages removed. This is a view of the breech of the gun, showing the snap cap hammer and part of the elevation and traversing mechanisms. There are raised LINEOL maker marks apparent on both sides all four wheels.

Condition: Generally near excellent throughout. There is some very minor wear to the paint on the fenders, and a bit of freckling on the cast iron hammer and spoked wheel hubs which does not significantly detract.  This is a solid 9+ on a scale of 10.
