This is an obsolete Hand Engraved 10K GOLD Content Marked Hartford Connecticut Alderman Badge.

It measures 1-3/8 x 1-1/2 inches. It has a hinged pin with safety rotor closure. It is hand engraved in script on the back with the name Herbert Older. The 10K marking is just above the catch.

The condition is excellent throughout.

Early 20th Century World War I 1915-1916 City Marshal Appointment Document.

This hand written document is signed by the Mayor of Watseka, Iroquois County, Illinois appointing Thomas A. Harper as a City Marshal for a period of one year: 1 May 1915-1 May 1916. It is signed by the Mayor Claude N. Saum (a noted lawyer of the time) and recorded by the City Clerk, Arthur H. Gehl.

It measures 8-1/4 by 14 inches high.

The condition is generally very good, with some wear and tear at the margins and corners from age, as shown. It should be easily concealable by proper matting and framing.

Early 20th Century World War I 1916-1917 City Marshal Appointment Document.

This is a difficult to find intact badge.

This is an overall view of the back of the badge. It has the typical thin lug NYPD integral pin catch connectors for using a safety pin to attach it to the uniform tunic. It has a JOHNSON N.Y NATIONAL maker mark stamped in the center of the back, just below the shield.

The condition is very good to near excellent with some routine wear to the deep blue enamel, as evident in the images.

This is an early to mid-20th century 2-1/8 x 2-3/4 Inch OBSOLETE City of New York Detective blue enamel and gilt die struck badge.

This is a difficult to find intact badge.

This is an overall view of the back of the badge. It has the typical thick lug NYPD integral pin catch connectors for using a safety pin to attach it to the uniform tunic. It has no maker marks apparent.

The condition is near excellent with very little routine wear to the high spots of the gilt emblem.  The deep blue enamel us remarkably intact, as evident in the images.

This is an early to mid-20th century 1-7/8 x 2 Inch OBSOLETE City of New York Detective blue enamel and gilt CUT badge.

This is a difficult to find badge.

This badge was cut when it was taken out of service and crudely reassembled for collecting purposes many years ago.  It has a partial separately applied numbers (2_04) remaining.

This is an overall view of the back of the badge. It has the typical NYPD integral pin catch connectors for using a safety pin to attach it to the uniform tunic.

This die struck shield badge has no maker mark. It was hand stamped to apply the letters to the banners, and there are separately applied numbers 114 on the front.

This is a very old badge, dating to the early 20th century. It has had the hook replaced at one point, long ago.

This die struck custom die shield badge with castle surmount has no maker mark. It has glossy black enamel banners and gilt letters on the front.

This is an old badge, dating to the mid 20th century (about WWII). The gilt badge measures approximately 2 inches in diameter.

Here is a view of the back with the pin up to show the engraving: COURTESY OF SUPT. HARVEY J. SCOTT. Police Superintendent Harvey J. Scott, was the city’s police chief for 13 years (1940-1952). On August 11, 1952,  was fired by Safety Director George E. A. Fairley for misconduct.

This is an early 20th Century Wallington, New Jersey MARSHAL very LOW numbered "2" badge with two-piece construction featuring the state coat of arms on a separately applied central disk.

The silver plate shows significant wear from carry.  It is numbered "2".

This is a view of the back.  There are no maker marks apparent.

It measures 1-3/4 x 2-1/2 inches.

The fastener is a hinged pin, however the catch assembly is completely missing (it appears it was a simple hook catch).

The condition is near good, with wear, as shown.
