Boy Scouts of America Early 20th Century 1910s Cloverleaf Medal
This is a scarce BSA pin featuring a green enamel cloverleaf with red enamel swastika with Native American arrows on the arms.

It is STERLING silver content marked on the back.  It has a very early T-bar hinged pin and simple hook catch.

It measures 1/2 inches square. This is a view of the back.

AAA Safety Patrol Merit Award Medal
This is a fairly unusual medal featuring a crossing guard in uniform.

It is marked in raised letters on the back "AWARDED FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN PROTECTING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN". It is maker marked WHITEHEAD & HOAG.

It measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter. This is a view of the back.

The condition is near excellent, with some bleeding of the colors in the ribbon.

Boy Scouts of America Mid 20th Century Eagle Scout Medal
This is a near mint BSA Eagle Scout medal with hinged pin BE PREPARED suspension and red, white and blue ribbon cased.

It is neither content not maker marked on the back.  It has a very early T-bar hinged pin and simple hook catch.

It measures 1/2 inches square. This is a view of the original labeled case with the recipient's signature. The signature is in several places on and inside the 2-1/4 by 3-1/4 inch case.

The condition is near excellent throughout.

Boy Scouts of America Mid 20th Century Sea Scout Ship 25 Patch
This is a near mint BSA Sea Scout Ship S.S.S. Spear SHIP 25 "Busy Beavers" patch in red, white, black, and green.

This is a view of the coarse cheesecloth back.

It measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter.

The SSS Spear Ship 25 is not related to the ship in York, PA. It was in Ithaca, New York, then part of the Louis Agassiz Fuertes Council (Ithaca is now in the Baden-Powell Council). The Spear operated from the early 1930's through the end of the 1950's. They were very successful in their day, owned a number of boats, and served in the 1939 Worlds Fair service corps - they sailed from Ithaca to Flushing Meadows to take part..  The current Ship 25 is the S.S.S. YORKSHIRE.

The condition is near excellent throughout.

Cincinnatus Medal of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution
This is a very scarce SAR serial NUMBERED named Cincinnatus medal featuring a blue enamel gold star border on gold with white and blue original ribbon suspension.

It is a ring mounted Revolutionary War eagle on an oval medal with the figure of a revolutionary war soldier.  The medal is script engraved to Gideon Stoddart presented on November 9, 1897 on the reverse side. Stoddart is listed as related to 2nd Lieutenant Isaac Ashton in the PENNSYLVANIA SOCIETY SONS OF THE REVOLUTION DECENNIAL REGISTER OF THE PENNSYLVANIA SOCIETY OF SONS OF THE REVOLUTION 1888-1898 ROLL OF ANCESTORS. Isaac Ashton (1742-177) is listed as a Second Lt., Capt. Samuel Massey's Company, Col. Jehu Eyre's Artillery Battalion, Philadelphia Militia, Aug. 27, 1777; died in service, Sept. 7, 1777.

It is numbered 2575 on the side of one of the horizontal arms of the cross.

Compatriots Medal of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution
This is a very scarce SAR serial NUMBERED compatriots medal featuring a blue enameled wreath with white, yellow and blue original ribbon suspension.

It is double ring mounted attaching the Revolutionary War eagle to the white and blue enameled Maltese cross and wreath.  The medal proper is made in three pieces, with separately applied central disks on each side.

It is numbered 18505 on the side of one of the horizontal arms of the cross.

It measures 1-3/4 inches square and it is suspended by the name bar. 4 inches long overall. This is a view of the back.

IDed Ancestor Medal of the National Society of United States Daughters of 1812
This is a  scarce USD serial NUMBERED medal featuring a blue enameled star on 14K gold.

It is maker marked J. E. CALDWELL & CO.

It is numbered 535 on one side of one star and 6748 on the opposite side on the back..

It measures 1 inch in diameter, excluding the ribbon suspension loop.  The ribbon is no longer present.

The condition is near excellent throughout.

United Confederate Daughters Named Civil War Southern Cross of Honor
This is one of the most prestigious decorations awarded by the United Confederate Daughters of the UCV.

It is named "C. A. Evans" on the suspension and has a raised CHARLES W. CRANKSHAW ATLANTA maker mark.

Clement Anselm Evans enlisted in the Confederacy as a private and rose to the rank of Brigadier General (brevet to Major General), commanding the 31st Georgia Infantry, and later Lawton's/Gordon's Brigade in the Army of Northern Virginia's II Corps.  He was one of the Founders of the UCV and served as Commander in Chief from 1909 to 1911.

Grand Army of the Republic 19th Century President's Desk Eagle
This is an 19th century undated GAR large bronze eagle on mottled brown marble base.

This is a very heavy piece.  The one-piece eagle is securely attached to a round one-piece column mounted on a square base.  The base measures 6 inches high and 5-1/2 inches square.  It is 9-3/4 inches tall overall.  The wing span is 7-3/4 inches.

The condition is very good to near excellent, with some minor crazing of the porcelain from age.

This is an 19th century undated GAR large gilded brass eagle on white porcelain china base.

This is a very heavy piece.  The two-piece eagle is securely attached to a round one piece white porcelain base.  The base measures 2-1/2 inches high and 5-1/2 inches in diameter.  It is 6-1/2 inches tall overall.

This is an 19th century 1897 dated GAR 31st National Encampment Buffalo New York Stickpin Medallion badge.

This badge has an interesting hanging loop suspension. The badge is maker marked by HEEREN BROS & CO. PGH PA under the rim.

Early 20th Century Old Soldiers Jayhawks Reunion Celluloid Badge
This is a 1905 dated 10th Reunion Old Soldiers Association Cherryville Kansas badge.

This badge has an interesting applied celluloid pressed in a gilt frame construction. It has a WHITEHEAD & HOAG maker marks stamped on the back and in very small letters on the face of the button, just below the disabled soldiers (one missing his left leg, the other missing his left arm) shaking hands.

It measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 4-1/2 inches long. This is a view of the back.

This is an 1894 Dated GAR National Encampment Campfire bronze encampment lapel button.

This button has the sailor-soldier, woman and child and victory with her sword handshake logo of the GAR on the face.

This is one of the most prestigious decorations awarded by the UCV.

It is numbered "8035" on the back and has a stamped MEDALLIC ART CO NEW YORK maker mark.

This is one of the most prestigious decorations awarded by the UCV.

It is numbered "3654" on the back and has a stamped MEDALLIC ART CO NEW YORK maker mark.

United Confederate Veterans World War I Honor Cross Group IDed to USMC
This is one of the most prestigious decorations awarded by the UCV.

The WWII UCV Cross is numbered "8490" on the back.  The honor cross is unnumbered.  There is also the original ribbon bar with Bronze Cross with Combat V, WWI and WWII medals, and a Good Conduct medal.  There is a separate oak leaves and acorns device for the UCV medal for WWI service.

This is an early GAR 10K Gold content medal named to "H. P. Krebs".

United Confederate Veterans Civil War Veteran Medal
This is a scarce 1907 United Confederate Veteran medal.

It belonged to C. A. Evans, cited above, and was worn while he was the Commander of the Georgia Division of the UCV.

It measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter and it is suspended by the veteran bar. It is 2-3/4 inches long overall. This is a view of the back.  It has a raised WHITEHEAD & HOAG NEWARK N.J. maker mark on the back of the medal.

WRC Veteran Nurse Medal
This is a very heavy 14K solid gold two medal complete with original 14K gold chain.

It is engraved to the recipient, Mary A. Howarth and dated 30 January 1936 and has no maker or content marks.  It tests 14K (or better) gold. It weighs slightly less than one ounce Troy (approximately 25 grams).

The Woman's Relief Corps was an organization of nurses, medical and health professionals and volunteers that supported the veterans of prior wars, notably the Civil War, since 1883. This medal was awarded for 50 years of service to the W.R.C. Department of the Potomac chapter of the organization.

There were once 17 diamonds on the medal, 13 around the seal and four on the chain, which were removed during the Depression.

It measures 1-1/8 inches square. The chain is 20 inches long overall. This is a view of the medal and chain.

The condition is excellent throughout, with the exception of the popped stones, as shown.

WWI 11th Infantry Regiment War Medal
This is a World War I War Manoeuvers Medal with engraved inscription naming Company G, 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Division, 10th Brigade and naming the WWI Campaign Honors.

On 24 April 1918, the regiment sailed for France. By May of 1918 it joined the 5th Division near Chaumont, France. The 11th then took part in the Vosges Mountains, St. Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne offensives. In the second phase of the Meuse-Argonne offensive, the regiment forged a brilliant crossing of the Meuse River.

The medal has a top loop for suspension. There is no ring or ribbon present. This is a view of the back.

It measures 1-3/4 inches square. The condition is near excellent, with some minor tarnish to the metal (it appears to be coin silver) as shown.

WWI 308th Ammunition Train 83rd Division and 32nd Division and Army of Occupation Medal
This is a World War I 308th Ammunition Train 83rd Division and 32nd Division and Army of Occupation Medal Named to H.R. Kaplan.

The 308th Ammunition Train was organic to the 83rd Division and attached to the 32nd Division from 26 September 1918 to April 1919.

The medal has a red white and blue ribbon with brooch style wrap present. This is a view of the back, showing the raised letter inscription "From the Welcome Home Club" and block engraved name H. R. KAPLAN.

It measures 1 inch square. The condition is near excellent, with some wear and fraying to the ribbon, as shown.

National Guard of Pennsylvania Spanish American War Veteran Medal
This is a Spanish American War 1898  Medal Complete with Marksman 2nd Class suspension and chains.

There is a raised inscription on the back of the medal stating: TO THE MARKSMEN OF NATIONAL GUARD OF PENNSYLVANIA WHO ENTERED UNITED STATES SERVICE IN WAR WITH SPAIN 1898. The front has a depiction of a soldier at the ready with his rifle.

The medal has a J. W. DAVISON PHILA. raised maker mark.

This is a Spanish American War 1899 Marksman's Medal Complete with Marksman suspension bars and chains.

There is a raised inscription on the back of the medal NGP. The front has a depiction of a keystone and state emblem with MARKSMAN'S MEDAL inscription.

There are matching requalification bars for 1900, 1901 and 1902.

The medal has no maker marks.

This is a Spanish American War 1899 Marksman's Medal Complete with Marksman suspension bars and chains.

There is a raised inscription on the back of the medal NGP. The front has a depiction of a keystone and state emblem with MARKSMAN'S MEDAL inscription.

There is a 1902 qualification bar with simple hinged pin and hook closure.

Commodore Perry Expedition to Japan Medal
This is a 20th Century restrike of the original bronze medal commemorating Commodore M.C. Perry's Expedition to Japan.

There is a raised inscription on the front of the medal with his name and a very high relief profile bust. It has the artist's name F. N. MITCHELL. F in low relief letters below his profile.  The back of the medal has (in 13 lines):

George S. Patton 1945 Remembrance Medal
This is a 1945 Bronze Rembrance Day Medallion commemorating General George S. Patton, Jr., issued in Ettelbruck, Luxembourg.

There is a raised inscription on the front of the medal with his name and a very high relief profile bust. It has the artist's name J. LEFEVRE in low relief letters below his chin.  The back of the medal "Remembrance D-Day 1945 MERCI ETTELBRUCK" with the Luxembourg coat of arms and crown.

National Guard of Pennsylvania Spanish American War Veteran Medal
This is a Spanish American War 1898  Medal Complete with suspension bar and worn faded ribbon.

This is a superbly detailed bronze cross with the campaigns of the Span Am War and typical military symbols.

The medal has a MEYER stamped maker mark. It is serial numbered to the recipient with the number "B 3405".

101st Engineer Regiment Great War Veteran Medal
This is a World War I 1917-1919  Medal Complete with Marksman suspension bars, ribbon and original jeweler case.

The 101st Engineer Regiment of the 26th Infantry Division comprised the 1st Massachusetts Engineers and the 1st Maine Field Artillery. They served with the Yankee Division in France at the campaigns Champagne-Marne, Aisne-Marne (Belleau Wood), St. Mihiel (Chateau-Thierry), Meuse-Argonne, and Defensive Sector The condition is near excellent & shows very slight wear with the blood red ribbon in tatters as shown.

The medal was presented by the Veteran's Association of  Independent Cadets Massachusetts and dated 1917-1919 in raised letters on the back.  The case is maker marked in gilt letters Smith B. Harrington, Griffin Building, Boston.

It measures 1-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches long overall with a 2-1/2 by 4 inch case. The condition is very good to near excellent, with some minor tarnish to the brass, and tired ribbon, as shown.

This is a World War I Wartime Oct. 15, 1918 Dated Honor Medal Complete with raised inscription: From Colonel L.T. Willman, Commanding.

1904 Louisiana Purchase Ladder St Louis World's Fair Medal
This is a 1904 centennial commemorative medal for the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis event of the Louisiana Purchase in 1804..

There is a raised depiction of the Cascade Gardens on the back of the medal. The ladder has the dates 1803 and 1904 with Union Station St. Louis and Eads Bridge. The front has a depiction of Cascade Gardens and Machinery Hall as well as the same dates as the reverse.

The obverse of the medal has the bust of President Thomas Jefferson who negotiated the initial purchase.

The medal has no maker marks.

This is a 1921 Bronze Medallion commemorating the National Encampment of the National Guard.
